Rustling Ring Foiled at Wellington!!!!

In the early hours of this morning (1-Jul-07) two brave staff members of Wellington Riding foiled a rustling gang in the act! Shortly after 12am, Caroline and Mandy heard vehicles entering the Wellington grounds and sprang into action. With cat-like stealth they discovered the gang in this middle of rustling a black pony into one of the fields. They pounced and pointed out that it was the wrong field and the rest of the ponies were in the adjacent field. The ruthless gang, who for legal reasons must be identified only by their first names of Lucinda, Diane, Jane and Mike, disregarded their challenge and placed poor Lindo alone in the field.

In the aftermath this morning Lindo was said to be recovering well and shockingly the gang have been seen walking freely about the grounds. What has the world come to?

A great day was had by all yesterday with Lindo at North Farm Andalusians dressage day. Late arrival back at Welly due to horrid weather all the way from the farm - some 75-odd miles of really miserable road conditions and strong side-winds battering the truck on the M4. Mandy and Caroline earnt great respect from the rustler gang for their actions last night - having heard us all arrive with the truck and car engines revving (as quietly as we could manage), gates banging and horses whinnying, they decided they had to take some action to protect the herd. Very, very brave of them to challenge us all in the dark and rain like they did - even if Mandy did admit to driving over to investigate so she could easily accelerate away and escape if we were a real bunch of nasties. More news of the event will follow in a proper post-up with piccies and video.

Yes, it was kind of hard going driving back. All credit to Mike who was driving the horsebox. Thanks to everyone who came along. We had a brilliant day.

It's great to know that we have such brave and dedicated members of staff on hand to foil any possible wrong doers no matter what time of day. We thought you were coming home from a night on the tiles Mand.
